Ball and Trunnion Conversion
I purchased a Drive shaft from you several months ago to replace the Ball and Trunnion style drive shaft on a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda. Before calling I had spent several hundred Dollars rebuilding the old drive shaft twice. Each time the thing would last a couple of weeks before the vibration started again and it became unusable very quickly. When I called your place of business the staff was very helpful and professional and helped me get the things I needed to properly place the order. I was told there were a lot of orders ahead of me but was still very pleasantly surprised when the new drive shaft arrived 5 days later which was way sooner than I would have expected considering you build them from scratch. The product I received was very well made and was as good in appearance as anything I have ever purchased. I was able to get in installed in about 15 minutes with no issues. The real payoff was the first time I took it down the road. The previous vibration and noise form the original drive shaft was completely gone and the ride of the vehicle was smooth and quiet. The 4 speed shifter seemed to operate more smoothly as well. I was very pleased with the purchase and have told many people where the drive shaft came from. It has been on the car for many months now and is still working as well as it did new. In the process of restoring this car I have purchased many items. A lot of them have fallen very short of what I expected and I had to replace them. You guys do really professional work and I appreciated the value I received for my money.Thank you, Steven C

BMW Driveshaft Brent, Drive shaft turned out great! Car feels so much better. She just a 318is but built handle. All coil over suspension, polyurethane bushings all way around upgraded m3 brakes, stainless brake lines, stage 1 lightweight flywheel and HD clutch. Looking to build a obd1 325 motor and turbo it in the fall. And now a well balanced driveshaft, all the vibration gone! I think my brother m3 needs to be done soon. I will be sending it to you guys for sure!!

I received my custom 4 inch, .125 wall aluminum driveshaft complete with the Sonnax slip yoke and 1350 Spicer U-joints, correctly sized for 9000 rpm use and high torque. I reserved my comments until I fitted the shaft in place, and it fit perfectly with exactly 1 inch axial slip as I had specified. What a beautiful piece of craftsmanship! It was painted white as I requested. Uniform welds, a second-to-none quality “black chrome” slip yoke, and based on the very small balance weights used for high speed balance, it is a straight tube with excellent build concentricity. I have a 2006 Ram 2500 Mega Cab
w/Cummins. I finally got tired of my 2 piece Mopar driveshaft. I learned
that after a few rebuilds that trying to save a buck just is not worth it.
After installing new u-joints and carrier bearings it still had shudder
and vibration around 35 and then again at 65. I did my research, skipped
the middle men and went straight to the source. I cannot thank Driveshaft
Specialist enough. I ordered my driveshaft just before close of business
on a Friday. The following Tuesday I called you with my emergency which
was not your problem. Instead of getting told tough luck you guys bent
over backwards and got my driveshaft built and sent out Wednesday with
overnight delivery to Indiana. Even after calling you back a couple times
to check on progress you remained polite. I have honestly never done
business with a better company and your craftsmanship is second to none.
The shudder and vibrations are completely gone.

BMW race car - custom build. Installed the driveshaft nd I wanted to
let you know my thoughts:
1) The driveshaft looked great, all bits looked and felt great, and once
it was installed, my car was noticeably smoother running. The car is a
fully prepped Street Touring car for SCCA autocross -- poly motor/tranny
mounts, etc. -- so there's a lot of vibration, etc.
But, as I said, the car was noticeably smoother running your driveshaft.
2) The install was painless as can be expected. Everything fit perfectly,
etc.
In fact, your driveshaft solved a problem I'd had in my car. The front
section of the BMW OEM driveshaft incorporates a widened section that is
problem 4 inches in diameter. That wider section contacted my short-shift
kit, forcing me to shim the transmission bracket and center support to
gain clearance.
On your driveshaft, that wider front portion wasn't AS wide as mine,
probably only 3 inches in diameter or thereabouts. Bottom line, clearance
problems solved!
3) The pricing and service were fantastic.

without issue. Yoke is in with about an 1" between the trans tail housing
and the yoke flange. Seems solid with no movement. Really appreciate all

Hi there. I have a 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible with the original Commando V8 and an A833 4 speed transmission. Two weeks ago the original ball and trunion joint at the front end of the driveshaft finally gave out. I searched for a solution to my problem for a week without much luck. I decided to replace it with a more modern style. From the time of order to delivery to Canada, was just over a week. Admittedly, I was a little skeptical about its fitment, but wow! I am so happy right now. Everything, and I mean everything fit perfectly! The bolt holes at the flange were perfect, the length was perfect, the fit and finish was beautiful, and it is balanced perfectly. I can honestly say that there is not one thing that I would have liked to see different. Thank you so much for a great product, delivered on time at a great price. BMW 325i Driveshaft Specialist,
I wanted to extend my appreciation for a job well done. I ordered my rebuilt driveshaft for my 1990 BMW 325i over the phone in the fall of 2013. The gentleman who took my call was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We joked around about the poor weather in Texas at the time and he was still professional and courteous despite the ice storms in the area.
My driveshaft arrived at my doorstep before the promised delivery time. It was packaged well to prevent damage. The craftsmanship and the paint on the shaft itself made it seem like I ordered a new shaft from BMW! The arrow stickers showed me where to align the two halves if needed (which I did not).
When I finally got around to installing it, the shaft went in with no issues and my car is back on the road. I shipped the old shaft back and received my core discount on my credit card as promised.

1997 Trans Am Hi Jeff,
I received my driveshaft last week, and must say I'm one very
satisfied customer! The weight difference over the stock driveshaft and my
custom driveshaft is remarkable. I was able to grasp and lift my new three
inch aluminum driveshaft with my thumb and index finger! I could not
perform that feat with my 2-1/2 inch stock unit.
I installed my new driveshaft within a couple of hours of receiving.
Everything mated up nicely. The entire job took about 30 minutes.
I was finally able to safely accelerate up through 90 mph and it was
smooth as silk! Pushing it through the triple digits I'm confident would
have been just as smooth! This also confirms my ring and pinion install
(3.90) was successful.
This unit is an awesome piece of machined technology when compared to
my old driveshaft. I'm extremely happy with the results, and it's money
well spent!

1995 Ram 2500 in Alaska Brent & Jeff: Snow forecast for today. S’posed to be about a foot of it. I crawled under the truck for the last time, made a coupla adjustments and checked everything a fourth time as a few flakes started falling. I plugged ‘er in as soon as I got up to wake and warm the mill. Crawled behind the wheel, prayed a moment or two, softly spoke two words to the truck: “Junk Yard.” And turned the key. She lit right off, and four months of backbreaking work paid off. Everything works. I need to adjust the transfer case linkage, but that’s all. Only way out is uphill, and I needed to be in 4x4 to go up in the deepening snow, and had zero problems. One note: with the old Gear Vendor overdrive, when I’d decelerate, the driveline would clang. With it gone, the new driveline makes no noise on deceleration. I can’t take it up to highway speeds just yet(not smart on snow & ice), but everything works as advertised.
You guys hit it right on the head. I had a bit over an inch of play upon installation.
I crawled back underneath and reattached the skid plate as serious snow started blowing under the truck. Windows in the house are now white from driven snow, and it’s now blowing 40 out. One last trip into town yesterday, and I put the motorcycle in the shed last night, thinking it was time. I don’t believe I could have ducked that bullet any closer. I’m enjoying a celebratory hot buttered rum, and it’s nasty out there!
Timing is everything, and I couldn’t have done it without stellar support. You folks run a top-notch operation, and I’ll gladly recommend your business. Thanks for the quick turnaround, the excellent packaging, and great customer support. Here on an isolated island, our merchants know none of the above.

BMW shaft sent to El Salvador
I thought I would wait about a week to give you some feedback on the driveshaft, giving me some time to drive the car and see whether there are any issues. Pleasantly, everything about the transaction is/was perfect.
First, the item itself was well packed, nicely finished, and looked ready to install. We pulled the old driveshaft off the car and laid it alongside your rebuilt unit. Exactly identical, except for yours looking brand new and having U-joints that both actually moved. On my old driveshaft the rear U-joint was binding, and was the source of the “clink-clink” noise that had turned into a “clack-clack” before becoming a “clunk-clunk”. Taking our time, working only on jackstands, and not on a lift, we had the new driveshaft installed in a couple of hours, total, from the time we began dropping the exhaust until everything was all buttoned up again. The car drives smoothly, with no play in the drivetrain, and no unusual noises when setting off from rest or accelerating/decelerating.
What may be equally impressive is the time in which all this was done, from my first inquiry until we had the new driveshaft in the car. When I placed my order the item was shipped within hours, headed for my freight forwarder in Miami. From there they put it on a plane to El Salvador and it went into El Salvador customs on arrival. While that can often delay a shipment, I was totally pleased that from the time I placed my order to the time we installed the part on the car, only one week had gone by. Fantastic service, considering this was an export sale/purchase.
Bottom line, I am completely satisfied with the transaction in terms of product quality and customer service. Thanks.

Just an update. Finally was able to install the aluminum driveshaft you
fabricated and in went in without a hitch. The piece looks good,
unfortunately after installation you can't really see it the way Mazda
covers it up. FYI your unit comes in exactly 1 pound lighter than the OEM
carbonfibre one, not bad.

Hi Brent, it has been several months since you made a 1 piece 5" aluminum driveshaft for my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 2wd 4dr shortbed pickup. I had to send the driveshaft back and have the yoke shaft shortened about an inch. Just wanted to let you know it has been working great since day one of installation and I couldn't be more pleased to be rid of the trouble and headache of a carrier bearing. My truck is raised 5" in the front and 3" in the rear, but after installing the driveshaft, I only had about 1" of clearance between the carrier bearing crossmember and the new driveshaft. Checked it out and the x-member is light duty and welded at each end to the top outside edge of the frame ( strictly for carrier brng., does not affect frame integrity ). I removed the driveshaft and cut the x-member into with a recip saw and took each half and worked it up and down probably 30 or 40 times and broke each piece of the x-member off right next to the weld and reinstalled ds. I included the info. about the x-member in case it might be helpful to another customer in the future. I would like to say thanks for a great product and the outstanding service you provided! Sorry I didn't write sooner, (yesterday, about 2 PM), to tell you what you probably already know, you did a "fantastic job" on my shaft! Finally, "a company in the USA" that's "getting it done right"! You guys are doctors! (no shaft jokes)! I'm sorry I didn't resort to you before now, but you will hear from me again, (order(s)). I'm the same way. I'm an electrician by trade and help build cars, chassis, headers and other thing for cars. I always get kinda picked on because I want it to be "right" ,to picky I am. Hey, it's got my name on it. The car I'm currently working on is for a good friend of mine. Could you recommend a shaft for it and give me a round about price. It is a 79 malibu wagon, it has a 632" Big Chief Headed B.B. Chevy. Dyno'ed a little over 1400 hp with a 200 horse fogger tune-up in it. It will be running a power glide and a fab 9 rear end. Just want to let you know I got the driveshaft installed and I must say
you do very nice work. Slip yoke travel is about a inch from bottoming out

The local Fleet Pride driveline shop couldn't make a proper driveshaft despite 3 trips to them to for vibration issues.I phoned your shop,a polite knowledgeable salesperson,the shaft arrives here in New York a few days later. No more vibration issues, thanks. Tony P, Ontario NY
Jeff, Just a quick note to say thanks for the great driveshaft you built for my son’s 1998 Camaro 3.8L with T5 manual. It was received on schedule and he said it took him less than 30 minutes to remove the old and install the new driveshaft. Just wanted to let you know that I love the driveshaft so far. It went
right in with no trouble. However, it's the fuel cell and brake companies
keeping my car from moving (both have defects), so I cannot give you a
report on how it drives. I'm leaving for my wedding and honeymoon, so the

one year ago I promised to keep you posted concerning the custom made
driveshaft you built for my 68 400 Firebird. Some time went by and it runs
perfectly! The car´s nearly finished now (still had to get the correct 400
hood + hood tach; the latter two got their paint job today but the car
finally will be finished this upcoming week).
Thanks again for your help and could well be that I´m in need of your
perfect services again soon: I bought a mint 66 El Camino last year (one
of the smaller versions with the standard 283 cci 2bbl engine with
powerglide. It still looks very good but I´m afraid I can´t stand the
beginning imperfections very long, thus leading me once again into a full
restoration... LOL).
I´ve attached a few pics showing your driveshaft after assembly down below
in the attachment (perhaps it would have been better not to be caught by
the rain before taking pics...).

I just want you to know that I received the drive shaft and have installed
it. It just slid into place through the safety loop, into the tranny and
bolted up to the diff. Perfect.

Hi Brent,
I appreciate your concern and response. Great to see I'm working with
a customer oriented business. Regarding the flex-disk, at the time I
installed the drive it was NEW. The driveshaft after I mounted is was
about 1/2-3/4 of an inch short. There is no way the flexdisk can line up
perfectly unless the shaft segments move easily since the pilot shaft has
to slide into the driveshaft bushing.
I mounted the bolts, put a litte torque on them and realized the disc
had flexed about 1/8-1/4 inch. As I realized the forward driveshaft
segment was not really sliping easily out of the back segment, I used a
bar and a hammer to tap it forward to get the slip-section to release.
After a few taps, it did release and the flexdisck straightened up to
normal. I replaced the mounts at the same time. The old ones were
totally shot. Had a leaky real seal and the tranny fluid basically
dissolved them. Rather like jello when I pulled them out.
The reason I think it is the driveshaft is because it really is not
torque dependent. For example the vibration sets up if I accelerate
slowly or quickly. Also, if I put the car in neutral from 60 as I slow
coming off the interstate and allow the car to slow down naturally, the
vibration still happens at the same speed intervals. The problem I had
with the old flexdisk really were torque related. If I got this wrong
please let me know your opinion.
I may not easily find the time to do this job again. I hope this does
not cause a problem with you in terms of getting a replacement taken care
of. Also, do you suggest I pick up another flexdisk? I saw what the old
one looked like and it was a mess when I started messing with this. The
amount I flexed it was not much more that you could do with your hands
when you hold it.
Again, I really appreciate your help here. Let me know how to handle
this. I need to look at my calendar for a free weekend to knock this out
again. (Also, not during a blizzard! We just took a beating with snow up
here in DC)

I called them about a custom job: I have a European spec differential from a Ford ScorpioXR4i at the back and a T-5 from a 93 Mustang at the front. They were really helpful over the phone and through email and turned my order around in four days. Several other suppliers had already told me they couldn't do something this non-standard.
